New Delhi, 19 March 2020: Pioneering short video platform Likee continues to cement its position globally by registering a phenomenal growth in 2019. According to the report released by the company for October-December 2019 Quarter, the Monthly Active User (MAU) of Likee reached 115.3 million from 37.4 million in the corresponding period of 2018, representing an increase of around 208% on yearly basis for Likee, the pioneering short video platform by Singapore-based BIGO Technology Pte Ltd.
In India too, the platform has grown exponentially, powered by some of its unique initiatives such as #LikeeDreams. Aimed at supporting various causes and transforming lives, the initiative by Likee played a key role in expanding its outreach. Besides, collaborations with at least 10 big film and music production houses, such as Salman Khan Films, T-Series, Fox Star Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, Jjust Music and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Pvt Ltd, gave further push to the user engagement on the platform through various hashtag challenges.
Referring to the latest milestone, Likee spokesperson Mr Mike Ong said, “We continued to expand Likee’s geographic coverage, refine its content offerings, and augment its monetization capabilities. As a result, Likee’s total MAUs swelled, representing a whopping increase on yearly as well as sequential bases.” As per Sensor Tower report for January 2020, Likee was among the six most downloaded non-gaming apps globally, and ranked second in the short video platform category. Likee was also placed as the No. 1 app in ‘Top 10 Breakout Apps’ list according to App Annie’s report of 2019.
